Ditching Photoshop: AI Background Removal in the Browser

Hello from Tokyo! As someone who runs a small Shopify store selling vintage electronics, I have to take and edit hundreds of product photos every month.

For the longest time, my workflow involved taking photos, importing them into Photoshop, manually using the magic wand tool, exporting them, and then uploading them. It was exhausting.

Things have changed so much recently. Thanks to WebGL and browser-based machine learning models, you can now run complex AI tasks directly in Chrome or Safari.

I recently discovered the Background Remover on FreeClientToolbox. I just drag my raw product photo into the browser, and the client-side AI instantly detects the main subject and cuts out the background perfectly.

Privacy Matters

The best part? Because it uses my laptop's GPU to process the image, my unreleased product photos aren't being uploaded to some third-party server. It's incredibly fast, private, and has saved me hours of manual editing work.
